Aguaconsult partners with Denmark’s COWI on an evaluation of the European Commission's actions in the field of Civil Protection
Aguaconsult is partnering with one of Denmark's leading international consulting firms to carry out a joint evaluation of EC Actions in civil protection. This evaluation will look at the relevance, effectiveness and coordination of a range of civil protection interventions, both within the European Union and in developing countries. Coordinated and shared use of financial resources, skilled staff and physical assets among European Union Member States is increasingly seen as now only sound in principle (subsidiary), but also in terms of cost-effectiveness in the current economic climate. The evaluation will build on internal reviews carried out by DG ECHO Evaluation Sector, as well as involving questionnaires and targeted interviews to triangulate findings. It will take place over the middle of 2010 and results are expected by October of this year.
