DG ECHO Community Participation Review
Review of existing practices to ensure participation of disaster-affected communities in humanitarian aid operations
Benefits of participation of disaster-affected communities in humanitarian aid are widely recognised in the sector, with potential to improve efficiency, accountability, learning, long-term risk reduction, dignity and protection.
Aguaconsult has been contracted by DG ECHO to undertake this study into participation of disaster-affected communities in humanitarian aid operations to help identify the elements of participation which bring the greatest benefits to affected populations.
The findings from the study will be presented during a workshop to a range of key humanitarian actors and the final report will be available on DG ECHO’s website to promote accountability and learning.
