Bill is a water and sanitation specialist, with two-and-a-half years of experience. Bill’s experience covers a wide range of topics in the WASH sector; however, he is particularly interested in rural water and especially systems strengthening and different management and maintenance arrangements. While at Aguaconsult, he has led multiple projects that have supported NGOs such as GOAL and Welthungerhilife, as well as Rotary International to increase the sustainability of their interventions. Bill has also provided research support for multi-country studies on the management and maintenance arrangements for rural water services for WaterAid and IRC, led stakeholder consultations at the national and district levels, and helped develop an innovative toolkit to support WASH practitioners apply systems strengthening approaches. Bill gained in-country field experience during an eight-month internship at MAPLE Consult in Accra. During this internship, Bill displayed his policy analysis, project management and writing skills on WASH projects for the World Bank, WSUP, and DFID. Before working for Aguaconsult and MAPLE Consult, Bill completed an MA in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Sheffield, where he won the University of Sheffield’s ‘Best MA Dissertation Prize’ for his work analysing how to ensure the effective implementation of international health agreements.
