About the position
Aguaconsult is looking for a bilingual (French/English) Junior Consultant to join its small team of water and sanitation experts. The position involves working under the supervision of senior consultants at Aguaconsult in business development, project management, as well as direct input in technical and advisory services. Working initially in a support role, depending on experience level, it is expected that the candidate will gradually progress towards more autonomy in their responsibilities. Specific roles and responsibilities are as follows:
- Identify calls for proposals;
- Prepare technical and financial proposals;
- Assist with project management: plan and coordinate project activities, sub-contracts drafting, follow-up on project outputs, liaise with clients and associated consultants where necessary;
- Documentation review and interviews (remote or in-country where required);
- Data analysis, business and financial modelling;
- Report drafting;
- Assistance with the preparation of other communication materials: PowerPoint presentations, blog posts, etc.;
- Attend conference and sector meetings, when required;
- Assist with general administrative and content-related tasks for the company as required.

- Based at the Aguaconsult offices in Wivenhoe, Essex CO7 9GS
- Flexible working conditions with the possibility for working from home 3-4 days a week (after probation is passed)
- Up to 20 weeks international travel per year (Covid-19 pandemic restrictions will apply in 2020/21 meaning travel is greatly reduced)
- £24,000-£29,000 depending on experience
Profile
The candidate will have a keen interest to work in international development, especially on social and environmental issues. S/he will have at least 1-3 years’ experience working in a consultancy, NGO or research organisations in international development, business, economic analysis, environmental studies or similar. S/he will be educated to master’s level with a degree in economics, environmental studies, business or will have relevant work experience. Studies and work experience in water resources management and/or climate change will be a plus. S/he will be able to use Microsoft Suites comfortably and will have good communications skills, both orally and in writing. Excellent command of French and English languages is a must.
