Mariana is a sustainability engineer with an MBA from the University of Oxford and  an MSc in Water Science, Policy, and Management from the same  institution, as a 1+1 Pershing Square Scholar. This robust academic  background equips her with a comprehensive understanding of business  strategies and water-related challenges.


Mariana was a WASH Specialist staff member at Aguaconsult for a year, before returning to Mexico where she continues to work as an Associate WASH specialist. 

Mariana works on projects focused on climate resilience  for rural water supply and sustainability evaluations and bringing in  her expertise on innovative financing solutions for Water, Sanitation,  and Hygiene  initiatives. With over five years in the sustainability  sector, Mariana's leadership is evident through her past roles. As the  Senior Water Advisers team leader at Waterplan, a climate SaaS platform  to assess and manage water risks. She also participated in a project for  the Global Commission on the Economics of Water through the OECD.  Additionally, her experience as a Project Coordinator in Sustainable  Finance and Social Performance at Environmental Resource Management and  internship at Impax Asset Management showcase her ability to integrate  financial and environmental objectives.


Beyond her professional  accomplishments, Mariana co-founded and lead Pakaraima A.C., a  non-profit dedicated to eco-friendly music festivals and volunteer  programs. Mariana is fluent in English and Spanish.
