Chishala Kapupu is a Water, Sanitation and Health Sector Specialist based in Eswatini. She has six years of consulting experience and holds an MSc WASH Engineering degree from the University of Leeds. Her initial introduction to WASH was a USAID funded drought emergency response project working with rural communities in Eswatini. She has since worked with the Eswatini Government, UN Agencies, WaterAid, and the World Bank Group; gaining a good mix of skills in research, field-based technical implementation and project management. Her experience in managing the execution of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Water Week in 2015 proved valuable in the central role she played in the preparations for and execution of the first Eswatini Joint Water and Sanitation Sector Review (JSR) in 2016. She went on to co-author an outcomes paper of lessons learnt from this first JSR experience as well as co-present these findings at the 2017 Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) International Conference. Most recently, Ms Kapupu, is working as a consultant with the World Bank on a Water and Sanitation Access Project as well as a Covid-19 Emergency Response Project. These projects have a focus on improving water and sanitation access for households, schools and health care facilities.
