
Development Finance Specialist - Climate and Wash
Nathalia is a financial professional specialising in capital markets, blended finance, and development finance in developing countries. She is passionate about promoting inclusive and sustainable economic development through unlocking private capital to serve disadvantaged and rural communities. At Aguaconsult, she supports projects focused on funding and financial instruments for WASH and climate resilience initiatives, exploring ways to unlock private sector engagement and develop innovative financing mechanisms. Her work combines financial structure analysis, policy research, and stakeholder engagement to identify practical solutions for scaling sustainable water investments.
Before joining Aguaconsult, Nathalia worked in the financial sector in Colombia, where she led the structuring and execution of different financial mechanisms such as social bonds, securitisations, syndicated loans, and secured debt, among others. Beyond her professional work, Nathalia has also supported educational initiatives, tutoring children to promote language learning and cultural exchange.
She holds an MSc in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a BA in Business Administration, and a BS in International Accounting. Nathalia is fluent in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of French. She is driven by the belief that innovative finance can foster inclusive and locally grounded development
