Core Associate - Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Research

Joseph is a monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) Consultant with expertise across the water and resilience sectors. He is well-versed in a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and approaches, including design (Theories of Change, MEL systems, evaluation methodologies) and execution (from small to large-scale, multi-country assessments in both development and humanitarian settings). Joseph has applied these skills on assignments for a number of clients, including various country governments, NGOs, research institutes, philanthropic organisations, and UN agencies.


Recent projects include working as the Senior Evaluator on the FCDO’s Just Transitions to Water Security and the Project Manager for the Towards Inclusive Climate Resilient Rural WASH Services Evaluation, implemented by SNV.


Joseph is the Director of Ishka Consulting, a UK-based MEL consultancy. Prior to this, he worked as a Consultant in the Water team at MEL specialist Itad. He holds an MSc in International Land and Water Management and has worked across a variety of country contexts.
